Abstract


Within the project of
Archaeological and Heritage Survey in
North Kordofan (2015), the mountains
located south-east El-Obeid town, the
area located south of Khartoum-El-Obeid
road, was archaeologically surveyed.
A number of archaeological sites were
discovered dating to Neolithic era, and
some few pottery evidences that relate
to Mesolithic era. The archaeological
collections are in the form of pottery
shreds with diverse decorations as well as
plain pottery. This is in addition to variety
of techniques of pottery industry and the
preparation of its paste. Evidences of tiny
stone tools and their manufacturing debris
were also found. This is besides well
manufactured grinding stone tools with
diverse shapes. All of those evidences
testify to the possibility for this area to
incorporated human life during the mid-
Holocene era.
